The operating context
A global consumer products organisation operated an enterprise asset intelligence platform integrated with its wider IT, cloud and asset management environment. The platform supported multiple internal stakeholders, integration owners and service teams, each with different operational requirements and technical dependencies. Maintaining its effectiveness required coordinated service ownership, consistent governance and ongoing development.

THE CHALLENGE
What needed to change
What needed to change
The organisation needed experienced interim service ownership to maintain continuity of a business-critical platform. Beyond day-to-day operations, the role required technical leadership across platform strategy, lifecycle management, change governance and vendor coordination. Competing stakeholder priorities and dependencies across multiple tenants and integrations added complexity. The challenge was to maintain stable operations while continuing to develop the platform, assessing proposed changes against business value, operational risks, data integrity and long-term maintainability.

SCYR’S APPROACH
From assessment to execution
From assessment to execution
Having previously supported the platform's initial deployment and go-live activities, Scyr was engaged to assume interim service ownership and provide continuity of technical knowledge. Scyr managed the engagement through an embedded specialist and regular management-level service reviews with the customer. The assignment combined technical platform ownership with operational governance, requirements management and vendor coordination. Proposed changes were evaluated for their business impact, risks and maintainability, with decisions prepared for alignment and approval by the customer's internal stakeholders.

DELIVERY
What we delivered
What we delivered
Scyr's responsibilities covered the ongoing management, support and development of the platform. • Platform operations: Maintaining operational stability, investigating recurring issues, coordinating support escalations and managing corrective actions. • Change and lifecycle management: Evaluating requirements, coordinating platform enhancements and supporting standardised, scalable and sustainable configurations. • Vendor and service management: Coordinating technology vendors and support partners, reviewing service quality and monitoring service levels and performance indicators. • Documentation and governance: Creating and maintaining technical documentation covering architecture, integrations, configurations and operational procedures, alongside runbooks and change processes. • Training and enablement: Providing practical training and knowledge transfer to internal support teams, integration owners and platform users. Delivery required continuous coordination across stakeholders while respecting existing operational processes and technical dependencies.

RESULTS
The outcome
The outcome
The organisation maintained dedicated service ownership and active technical management throughout the interim assignment. Operational support, issue resolution and planned platform development continued without an interruption in ownership. Structured operational reviews, maintained documentation and clearer working procedures supported more consistent platform management. Training and knowledge transfer strengthened internal teams' ability to support and operate the platform. The engagement remains active, with Scyr continuing to manage platform operations and enhancements. A structured transition to internal service ownership is anticipated when appropriate. The result is sustained operational continuity, ongoing platform development and a more structured foundation for long-term service management.
